The Klamath River runs along the northern edge of the campground and has a reputation as one of the great salmon rivers on the planet.

The campground offers 8 acres of natural beauty to enjoy and explore.

Get your binoculars and cameras ready! Over 400 bird species soar over the area, including bald eagles, seabirds, owls, hawks, and more.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Kayak) – you can put into the Klamath right from the campground! (rentals available in the area)

Now more than ever, we all seek ways to calm our anxieties and nurse our well-being. Simply being in nature is good for the mind and body.

The campground features a large covered pavilion for picnics and other activities, and campsites for groups and families are available.

The lower 40 miles of the Klamath River has no road alongside, so the river itself serves as a highway for the Yurok people. If you really want to see and experience the lower Klamath River, you must get out in it!

Less than 15 minutes from the campground, the Klamath River Overlook is a scenic picnic pullout overlooking the Pacific Ocean & Klamath Estuary with sightings of gray whales, seals & sea lions.

Located just off the Redwood Highway, the Klamath Tour Thru Tree is minutes away from the campground and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Warning – it’s a tight fit for larger vehicles!

Many of the tallest trees in the world grow nearby. Behold the beauty and marvel at the majesty of these ancient trees.

Spectacular scenery, incredible hikes and walks, and more photo ops than a phone’s memory can hold are found all around the campground.

Whether you have an hour, an afternoon, or a whole day, there are many different trails and all kinds of different scenery to enjoy.

The Trees of Mystery Museum is free of charge and has a good collection of local artifacts, baskets and regalia. The collection includes items from Native cultures across the U.S.

The Sumêg Village is located about 45 minutes south of the campground.(NOTE: Patrick’s Point State Park was renamed to Sumêg State Park in 2021 as part of the Re-Examining Our Past Initiative.)

Don’t miss the annual Yurok Tribe Klamath Salmon Festival, held each August. Learn about California’s largest Native American tribe and feast on fresh Salmon! All events are free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
